I dont think it will bring you more traffic either, but what it could do is give a domain buyer the impression that your domain has a better Alexa ranking (and therefore quantity of traffic) than really is the case.
Is guess it just comes down to Caveat Emptor - buyer beware, dont buy a domain based on its Alexa ranking alone.
