London Meet on April 30, 2008 from 6pm

Everyone involved in the organising is either frantically busy or travelling, so things have been a bit quiet about this so far, but there's going to be an Acorn Domains get-together on April 30th (Wednesday) from 6pm at My Old Dutch in Holborn.

There will be nibbles and things first, and then the food will be served in batches depending on when people arrive.

Basically, they offer large, tasty savoury (and sweet) Dutch-style "pancakes" with a wide range of fillings. They're cooked to order so basically you can pick anything off their menu.

It's anticipated the cost will be about 10 pounds a head plus whatever drinks end up costing - a couple of sponsors will be pitching in to cover the difference on the cost of the food.

The booking is for 30-50 people, but it would be good to get an idea of numbers as quickly as possible so that I can give them a more definitive idea. If we can get together a full 50 people, we can have a private floor to ourselves - if not, we'll have to share the area but we'll at least have a private section.

I am guessing the event will probably run until 9-ish there (depending on how many turn up and when) and then after that those who want to can decamp to somewhere like Covent Garden or further towards Holborn, both of which have a bunch of pubs and are only 5-10 minutes walk away...

Please post below if you can definitely come (and numbers if you're bringing anyone else!)

Its about time someone did something but count me out Im sorry I cant just drop everything to go to london just for a mid week pissup a weekend maybe

Looks like its just for londoners again i think we will all have to organise regional meets

I'm not sure what you mean by "just for Londoners again" since this is the London event thread?

Last time we had an event in London and another in Manchester.

Worth noting...
Internet World is from April 29th to May 1st
Nominet AGM is in the morning of April 30th

Both the above are also in central London, so at least there's more than one thing to do if anyone does decide to make the journey up/down/across...

Hi Admin

Im saying just for Londoners yes its a London thread but because its is not a one day/two day event but a one evening piss-up makes it nearly impossible for domainers to justify to go there if we have to travel far ie Cardiff,Hull and Scotland for that matter remember your last event one evening again

Dont mistake me for not making the effort to go to London the last Domain Focus Two day Event I turned up and enjoyed meeting my fellow domainers and investors that sitting at home i would never had done

You had enough time to make a more structured event and blew it when i lived in Bow i would go but not from Cardiff for one evening

That said Good luck with it i will miss not being there Admin please can you put up a sub-forum for Cardiff so we can post meetings on it
