Sorry, who am I to know, but your prices look optimistic to the point of being almost ridiculous. If they really are worth anything like those amounts, I can pack up work and go home today. My portfolio must be worth at least high 7 figures, if not 8. Sadly, I suspect I'll still be here tomorrow and next week, next month...

Also, you might want to update your 'about us' and 'contacts' as they currently refer to mortgages and insurance etc.

Good luck. I really hope it works and you sell loads of domains and there are some great domains in there.

Nearly ready not ready

The site is nearly ready not ready...

Value is only relevant to the person who values it....if you value all your domain names at £10 then thats down to you.

I have only ever sold two domain names...one for £5000 and one for £75000...I have no burning desire to sell as I want to develop as many as possible (if not all) but IF someone wants it more than me then the prices are set at that level I would sell.

If I was desperate to sell then the prices would be very different

The commission is indeed 30% and is relevant to target prices.

Hi Lee

Good luck with your venture

The only thing I would say, is that from this and many other forums, you can easily find very well contacted individuals that would sell domains on my (or anyone elses behalf) at 10% or at most 15%.

Therefore, I would have to ask whether you could seriously attract the additional value to the sale to ensure that I am not significantly out of pocket.

So for a 100k domain with one of a few brokers i know at 10% I would 'lose' 10k.

With you I would lose 30k meaning i walked away with 'only' 70k or I would be expecting you to be selling my domain at c. £130k (plus) to ensure I still get my c. £90k.

In this market I would say that 30k increase in value for the domain would be a very very tall order that's all.

Just a thought but coudl you not do 15% buyer and 15% seller fee?

As I said good luck

Surely if we were to build a platform for an auction system, wouldn't it need to run parked ads on the sites in between on the pages?

So whoever took on this project would need the relevant feeds from people like Google.

That's the only way it would work, if it took on Sedo on every level.

All the best

I think regardless of fees and charges these sites fail as they don't have the traffic of the likes of sedo and hence no one posts their domain on them. chicken and egg.

NO the fees "DO" matter, tell me (anyone) are you happy about paying sedo 10% for jack?

If its was 5% sedo would be the best site there is - but it isnt and its a German firm - so where is the Brit counter-attack.

I will gladly put in some experience and some cash to make this happen if anyone who actually has skills - not a domain portfolio (cause we all have that) wants to pm me...

On traffic 'hammer' you're bang on; nuff said. Its absolutely what its all about.

But 30% I ask you; - Even someone without a modicum grey matter between their ears has got to say - your having a larfff!!!

I meant they don't matter as you wont be using the site if theres no traffic on it and you can't sell your domain. If I got round to launching the site it would be free initially.
