| Member | What he said...., although if your unsure call nominet and get a name, give brief overview...if the wheels fall off you've got a shorter route to recovery and some recorded notes on their files prior to. A little while back I had occasion to ring nominet about 8 times over the course of a week and always got the same guy, I suggested that he was running the internet single handedly from his shed, this apparently is not the case. Very helpful bunch! |

| Junior Member | thanks for your help we have recieved most of the funds regarding the transfer -£300 but keep trying to get hold of the guy as we need company info etc before nominet will change over the details, technically we still own the domain, we are trying to make this as easy as possible but the guy purchasing is not responding, what are we to do about it? it is obviously in his best interest to send us the appropriate information, none of the paperwork is completed properly at the moment, its sooo frustrating lol yadda yadda yadda sorry to bother you again didn't know if you have any suggestions kind regards Jax Quote:

![]() | Hi Jax, It is best to send them the part of the forms that they have to fill in so they can do it themselves. They can then send it on to Nominet. What I do is send them their half of the application form with an invoice and I fill in and send my half of the application form, letter and id directly to Nominet. Thereby avoiding sending my id around the houses. Your job done. Nominet will record that they're waiting on their information. Then its just a matter of just reminding them periodically to fill in the forms. It looks like trust and escrow are no longer the problem though I'm not sure how you ended up £300 short. yesterday

| Junior Member | Hi. we are nominet members. The bottom line here is that ALL domain activity should be controlled by the "legal" registrant, which can ONLY be changed by Nominet on receipt on the registrant change paperwork, signed by both parties. Now, if the registrant is still YOU, then NO changes should have been made to the domain, in terms of IPS tag, name servers, or Web content. You need to be aware that the current *REGISTRAR of the domain, which is presumably still under your control, i.e you have an account with them , (*that is the "TAG" owner, which can be found from "whois" at nominet.org.uk), "you" can make changes to all of the domain registration details EXCEPT the name of the registrant. NOW .... you should NOT have made any changes to the domain UNTIL YOU have been paid, and the legal registrant has been subsequently changed, with YOUR permission, by Nominet. I see NO other way of doing this. The "trust" has to be in YOU to do this, NOT the other way around, otherwise you lose control of the domain. You Have to get the nominet forms signed by the other party, returned to you, with the payment, and then submit to nominet. If you have any queries, ring Nominet and Ask. They are VERY helpful. Regards Eric-isp |
