Your Overture threshold?

Hi all,

New to your forum and just recently started 'prospecting' in .co.uk's...

What's the general consenus regarding Overture scores?
Will you take names with low or no scores?
If its a catchy kind of term, even if not in the dictionary, ie made up, would you take it regardless of overture?
Do you only take the uk overture score into account or does the other overture have any bearing on your decisions?

For quirky dictonary names (ending in 'ing', 'ly' etc) would you automatically take it because it a dictonary name but has no overture?

Who do you recommend to sell your .co.uk's through? Any sharks out there?...

BTW, anybody know how long the whois registration status changes from 'Registration request being processed' to 'Registered until renewal date'?

Names Ive had since the 8th Feb are still showing 'Registration request being processed'

Be interested to hear your opinions...

Yes OV isnt everything and can be wrong, it is out of date information too. I once regged a domain with over 1,000 OV but it had 0 traffic.

Yes, I have taken names that "sounded good" and sold them for good money, but there is a lot of luck involved in a buyer wanting your exact name (Sedo for example have millions to choose from)

Traffic is traffic

No, just because it's a dictionary term doesn't make it a winner.

Anywhere there is money there are sharks, but if you look at DomainPrices.co.uk you will see a lot of sales are through Sedo, although doesn't mean that's where all sales happen, we just dont know about the others. Increasingly we are seeing some nice member to member activity here, checkout out Domain Name Trader system to see who's a good buyer / seller.

'...some nice member to member activity here...' - is nowhere on the web safe?
