my understanding from it is that, by having 20 domains that get small long tail traffic to your site means you can make do with not having the big marketing bucks that you dont have on it. for example if you had a number of small long tail domains you could focus those domains to get to the top few searches.

im not to sure how much it costs to set up a real betting business, with a licence and things, was looking into it at one time. 888 affiliate where they pool poker players and other things was more what i was looking into but when they started asking about business plans of why i think im better than others to start one i gave up. (tho an idea i did have was to pick a small local bookie and ask him if he wanted to set up an online business, he has the licence and some of the profits and you get a cheaper way to do it...well so i understand it.

i think its a big risk to start if 1. your seo isnt very very good 2. that you have some money to risk (around £15000) for domains and services.

my advice is that you start off by getting a few affiliate sites going, if your generating money from that then its quite sure that you can turn those customers into your customers when you do decide to launch a full betting site.
