I think the original post has finished but some important issues with high cpc's
It works in every sector, but obviously some are much easier than others.*
Pay day loans for example. Seeing as it started this thread.*
If you profile your customers, you can ascertain how to market to them.*
Use high street business methods online.*
So who uses pay day loan services?
When to advertise?
And what other services have crossover customers?
So who uses pay day loan services?
New starters - be that back to work after a spell off, first time employees and a big one military personnel.
*
Gamblers - always cash hungry.
The young pink pound customers, live life to the full and again always cash hungry.*
Place your adverts on sites that attract these people. Same people but at 10p a click rather than £5*
There are many more but you see where I am going with this.*
When to advertise?
No good running a blanket campaign, you need to target your customers at the right time. For weekly paid you would probably have more chance gaining someone on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Monday is to early, Tuesday better, Wednesday best day, and Thursday would probably be a day pay day loans customers would re use a service, so if it was your business you would be alerting them in other ways but not really a day you would acquire new users.*
You would also target from the 20th each month in line with your campaign plan. *If you were targeting government employees etc you would build in something to catch those paid mid month. *
I say plan because it's essential, the more you plan the more you can measure your success. After all true effective marketing is all about measuring and not advertising.*
What time will you put your add out at. If your struggling for conversions in this sector. My guess is your getting clicks during standard working hours.*
Yes people will search then and some may convert. But the likely hood is they will click on several and then go straight there when they get home. *So no way of measuring those clicks correctly.*
Lots of finance websites have features like. We will call you back. Err no thanks I'm at work. Or no thanks I'm on the computer wife is in bed while I try and sort my financial mess out, last thing I need is a call or they are closed.
If you had. Just type your mobile number in and we will send you all the details. You have more of a chance plus you have their number to market and remarket to.*
If you had your ads showing in good solid working class areas and placed them at times you had tested and knew worked you can't go far wrong.*
Choosing uk and all hours or working hours is just throwing money away.*
Again more to say on this but it should give you an appetite to learn more.*
**
Advertise to crossover services?
Your pay day loans or any product/service are also customers of other businesses. Find out who and advertise there. The rates may be much lower.*
Cheque cashing services for instance, gambling and job sites etc as I mentioned earlier. Lots more, compile your own lists and regularly test them to make sure they are current and true.*
Most of these so called cpc ppc google adwords experts will just spend your money. They charge you and make a commission most times on what you spend. Be careful about using them. But try and gleen information to see if they know there stuff or they are just spenders.*
Find someone you can trust and don't let them go.*
I used to charge 20% of a customers spend. And that was cheap especially for small spends and the time it took to write and plan etc but people thought they could get cheaper, most come back a few months later when they see their errors. Percentage is less for large amounts of course or set fees. But I would always recommend using someone other than yourself. *And don't use anyone who already does work in your sector. ie another pay day campaign for someone else.*
Another middle of the night post on phone so apologies for any errors and layout. *No sucking egg exercise for anyone who knows how it works already.*
