just a quick update..
I did a bit of digging around... I used to work for the company that owned d2d.co.uk, the company was sold in 1997 to celestica.com... d2d are still registered as active with a proposal for dissolution with UK Companies House... which means that the Treasury Solicitor shouldn't be getting his dirty sticky paws on the domain quite yet!
One has to question the way Nominet carry out their investigations into unused prenom domain names... by my reckoning the company that purchased design to distribution (d2d ltd), were & still should be the rightful owners of that domain name... or at least have had the opportunity of re-registering it! If Nominet mistakenly drop a name like this … it makes you wonder how competent they are tracking down any previous owners of these domains.. I’m certainly sceptical about their process!
