I assume that the company in question is somewhere in Europe but not the UK, yet they couldn't afford a few £££ to register a top-level-domain. It will now cost them in excess of £400 - at a guess - and plenty of e-mails and/or letters (doubt it will make it to a solicitors).

Can you please let us know whether or not they have a TM on the name (from Jeewhizz suggested site)
