Hi Guys,

Has anyone here used Affilistore for developing an affiliate site?

I have just installed the 2.1 version on one of my domains and currently having a play with it.

I had a search for a suitable merchant / affiliate network to provide the data / product feeds etc. I found a company called: 'affiliate window' and have registered an account. Can anyone recommend 'affiliate window'? Or suggest any others for this type of site?

I am new to developing affiliate sites, so looking for fairly simple, but effective solution to get started. I had a look at a number of sites asking for reviews on here, and was shocked how good some were (I won't be achieving anything like! A mobile phone comparison site made by a member called Peacock, was very impressive indeed!)

My main concern with 'Affilistore', was the ability to achieve good seo and page rank. Is the answer here: Just to add Lots of quality relevant content?

As another option, I looked at the Amazon 'AStore'. At a glance from an amateur like me, it seems that this is not your own self hosted content? So it would be impossible to achieve any sort of page rank and you would need to rely purely on direct and add generated traffic? Am I right?

Anyway, apologies for the long post. Would appreciate any advice or thoughts here.

I've never used astores, I have used affilistore though,

here's a couple of my sites:

Fancy dress costumes

Elliptical trainers

Both need a lot more work, ie more content and I barely promote them anymore because of other projects.

The fancy dress site was earning a nice 2 to 3 hundred per month in 2009 -10 all i was doing was updating the feeds every other day. Google loved it, it was ranking on page one for lots of good terms, but as you probably are aware of googles algorithym changes, namely panda, since then it hardly ranks.

It's not the script its the lack of content though, I need to go through the site but got so many other things to do at the moment. My interests have moved on too.

I have a mod for affilistore if your interested, it enables you to add custom page titles and meta descriptions for each category, page and news item.

I have another site, affilistore-templates.com, I started it when affilistore was still around, but then the creator suddenly took the site down - no-one knows why? but finished the site anyway, I know the templates aren't web 2.0 by a long way but it was a couple of years ago when I was new to design. I still do the odd custom template for people who contact me.
