I have a site that has been getting tons of random links from random words on .info blogs.

It doesn't make any sense to me. It's just random words hyperlinked throughout the content to random pages of mine and others peoples' sites. The articles/words/links have no topical relevance to the URL.

At the bottom of each article there's then a bullet list of 5 random words linked randomly to URLs.

Does anyone have any idea of what this is? Is it an automated network? Why does it hyperlink random words everywhere. Why does it link to my site?

I've shown examples of what I mean:

Bizzarre. Certainly looks like automated spam.

Perhaps by linking to some credible sites they're hoping to avoid filters?

I agree, but what confuses me is why/how they're linking to my site in so many posts? It's as if they've used automated blog posting and random link generating software using a list of pre-defined URLs?

Have you thought about a business model that includes intentionally setting up your own toxic link wheel and linking out to reputable websites and charging an "admin fee" for link removal?

    Food for thought...
