![]() | Need advice on Slots / Gambling business
I am looking to start a small scale Slots / Gambling site but I know very little about the business, can anyone here give me a lowdown on the costs involved, license needed? and the best software. I been googleing it but find little information on costs, cant seem to get a clear answer. Can I buy the software and host myself or is this a license only kind of Business. Thanks in advance! |

The first step to running a successful slots/gambling realted site is running a successful affiliate site. There are so many slots sites out there jostling for position, you need to identify where to advertise and place links to attract gambling traffic. For example, gambling has a lot of cross-over traffic so posting in a gmbling forum (blackjack, poker strategies etc) and you will be increasing exposure to potential gamblers on your site. Oh, and advertise the bonus in $$$ if there is one! |

Thanks fraggle123, I wanted to sidestep the affiliate stuff and go straight for the kill, I never seem to have much success with affiliate sites, I figure if your going to spend money promoting and advertising why send the traffic to affiliate sites, it makes no sense to me?. I have managed to find quite a bit of information since my first post but still would like to hear from anyone who has actually run there own Slots/Gambling site.

Unless you have 8k a month minimum and set up costs of around 50k your barking up the wrong tree. Start out as an affiliate, or if you have a good business plan, as a super affiliate for 888 group etc Once you are up and running and bringing in a mint, then consider setting up on your own, cos even if you have 150k for a years costs, you need a crack marketing team to make it pay, and that costs lots more. |

by having party poker (dot) com wont be able to get all of those long tail keywords so the gaps are filled with small domains like poker satatistics (dot) co (dot) uk that will get a few people in your door every month. i was looking into setting up an online casino, only really got as far as looking at a few companies that offer online pooling of players (mainly 88 is it possible to pm me with the domain?

im not to sure how much it costs to set up a real betting business, with a licence and things, was looking into it at one time. 888 affiliate where they pool poker players and other things was more what i was looking into but when they started asking about business plans of why i think im better than others to start one i gave up. (tho an idea i did have was to pick a small local bookie and ask him if he wanted to set up an online business, he has the licence and some of the profits and you get a cheaper way to do it...well so i understand it. i think its a big risk to start if 1. your seo isnt very very good 2. that you have some money to risk (around £15000) for domains and services. my advice is that you start off by getting a few affiliate sites going, if your generating money from that then its quite sure that you can turn those customers into your customers when you do decide to launch a full betting site.
