I'm guessing this must be possible, but having never tried it before would appreciate any guidance.

I've used the feed aggregator in Drupal to collect feeds and display combined feeds on a site, however, I'm trying to collect filtered RSS feeds where I can collect just those posts that meet my desired keyword requirement. I guess I can filter in Drupal from a collection of generic feeds but would rather just collect filtered feeds if that is possible.

Any suggestions?

It depends on whether the source of the feeds lets you filter at the point of feed generation by keyword.

If not, you'll need to do the collation and filtering in Drupal. Views can be built and filtered on aggregator items, and output as a feed.
