You are correct, very few have dropped at all this week so nominet are building up a back-log.

This has happened before apparently.

The drops stopped on Monday night, apart from an odd few sinc then. It may be coincidence but this is the same time as the introduction of new restrictions for tag holders.

The day when the backlog is cleared will be good for the automated systems, and tagholders who are only after one or two names. There might even be a few left over for the man in the street if he is online at the right time.

What we would most like to know, is the date of the next drop.

Great article - thanks Admin.

With the lack of dropping domains I just realised how addicted I was.

I mean it's not like I own a huge amount of names but looking for them is great fun - and so addictive!

I love seeing that "suspended" message and then the build up to the anticipated drop....... then the big day... and then.. the wait....

Why is it that Nominet seem to be able to make the rules up as they go along? I mean with .com it's so simple, the cycle is more or less set in stone. But with nominet - anything can and does happen!

I think the uncertainty of it makes it more interesting and gives the man in the street some chance of getting lucky. Still not very likely.

Things are always changing, we picked up a 3 letter domain last year on a manual reg! That would be impossible now, too many Tags watching these type of names.

I actually prefer it to the US system which has allowed Companies like Pool.com to muscle in and the effect is even hideous .COM domains can go for high prices as people get "Domain Fever".

Happy Hunting!
