Appraisal - glastonbury.co.uk

currently at no2 position if 'Glastonbury' is entered as a search term in Google

just curious but may be willing to sell if the price is right

Yes, a very good domain but I don't think I will attempt a valuation. Maybe a certain Somerset farmer would be interested, he's probably got a bit of spare cash too.

Not after this year's ticket sales - he was almost giving them away on opening day!

Could I interest you in glastonburytor.org.uk or isleofavalon.co.uk?

The value is as a 'small' place name, as any use relating to festivals by a new owner could (I guess) create issues.

I would value name only at highish x,xxx based on population of 9,000 people and fame.

I guess the site makes money so that would need to be factored in, likewise if the festival use could be used then would need to whip out my calculator again as that would significantly alter values

Decide on a figure that will make you happy and pitch it somewhere above that. See if you get any interest. Your "right price" won't be the same as others. Rhetorically, decide whether you need to sell and if so how much you need to recoup. At a pure guess I would say that if it has traffic that can be monetized, some of the overall value can be calculated from that. You'll be able to guess the most obvious suitors for this domain name better than most.

Glastonbury Festivals Ltd have trademarked the use of the Glastonbury name in several categories. So using the name in relation to music festivals would be inviting a response from their lawyers. Using the name in relation to the town is OK and attracts people wanting to advertise. I've just run out of the energy to maximise the ad revenue.

You might be getting a DRS from me if your not careful, glastonberry.co.uk and your clear breach of of passing off my very succesful site. No problems proving this one I feel.

How much you willing to pay me to prevent action?

Rather than let the name go I am sure there must be a way of running it with a hands free approach? I would probably mean lower rev, but lower hassle as well
