im finding it hard to put a value on this one

any ideas

Is it TM'd? Would make a nice forum with side sales of the latest version / gaming products.

i dont know, looking at the .org.uk/.org etc and they are all selling the games etc on there

I have just searched for this at ipo.gov.uk. There is a recent European Trademark on the term (but no UK trademark). I guess that this would be enough to prevent you using the domain to promote the game using the domain without their prior permission.

You would of course be entitled to use the domain for other purposes, e.g. a general info site about military hardware.

He might be able to. The only problem is that if he goes ahead without permission, because they have a European Trademark which he would be infringing by using the name to sell their product, he would probably lose if they decided to challenge him for the name. That's only an if, but the point is if you don't want this risk, you'll have to ask for permission first.

It depends on the game doesn't it, some of the Battlefield series official sites had links to fan sites with 'BF' and 'Battlefield' domain names. I'm sure others won't always be so accommodating but have you checked the MW official site?

will have a look around see what info i can find on this, pretty much made the site now, all i have to do now is find some hosting.....god i hate hosting
