Appraisal: thehotline.co.uk

Hello

We've just got a Sedo appraisal on thehotline.co.uk, which was previously used for a business that didn't quite work out.

Would appreciate your views on what you think it's worth?

My client plans to sell it as a package with the-hotline.co.uk and the-hotline.com.

I will post the Sedo appraised value here after there have been some replies

As a domain very little perhaps £100 - can't see a value beyond this. Its a three word domain.

I think that, to maximise the sale price, it'll be a case of marketing it to the right business rather than to someone on the lookout for a speculative sale and/or someone that will just invent a business/scheme to match the domain name.

Will keep you in suspense a little longer before I reveal the Sedo appraised valuation...

I wonder how many names appraised by Sedo are sold for anywhere near the figure they advise, and how long a seller would expect to wait.

With no data available to answer these points I have to question the value of such appraisals.

A customer paying for an appraisal would be pleased with a high figure, whereas reality might be disappointing, and not a good for further appraisals.

It's all a matter of opinion, but from my experience I can't see anyone paying near £2000 for thehotline.co.uk. It is a name with no specific meaning, and many type-in visitors would look for hotline.co.uk.

Thumbs up

Hi,

I quite agree with you Keys, like you say who would want to limit any further business by giving low appraisal values to customers domains especially when they receive nice sums for the job. If you price high however they are bound to be delighted and return for more. This is not my practice, I believe in providing accurate but realistic valuations for names which in turn should result in a sale should these estimates be adopted for enquiries.

My valuation for this name would be nearer the £945 mark and at that price I would consider it a good sale. With the return on this you could buy another 145 domain registrations increasing you potential for more.

Regards
