Off the top of my head, if you want a hotel and venue then I'd recommend...

The Rutland, The Hudson (both at west end) or The George (george street). A little pricier includes The Hilton (west end), The Balmoral (east end).

You can get cheap bookings on lastminute/expedia/teletext as I got the George for �60 when it was usually �120.

If you wanted to move location to the waterfront you could stay at the holiday inn express and we could have our meet in the ocean terminal shopping centre. They have numerous bars and restaurants which are really nice with a sea front view. For those in town, it is only a 10 minute bus journey on a 22 which runs every 5 minutes.

There is also premier inns and travel lodges dotted about the city. If you are struggling let me know and I'll put a duvet in my bath tube and give you B&B for �30

If you want to find a few places and let me know I can offer you advice on the nicest/closest to town etc.

If anyone is driving to Edinburgh it is currently a bit of a nightmare with tram works and the fact there are more double yellow lines than there are roads! Again let me know where you are staying and I can suggest good parking. If we go decide to go to ocean terminal there is parking there or in my street and we can bus it down (2 minutes).

Yeah lets get something sorted. Speaking to Rob we should have a venue sorted soon then we can book something close ish to that.

Although I must say Im tempted by:

I don't mind giving a hand with a venue or booking a place or suggesting places to stay, it's up to Rob and everyone who is joining us as I live 5 mins from town and ocean terminal.

I'm half Iraqi James, I'll do you grilled camel balls with toast included in the price haha!

I would have offered to put you up but I only live in a two bed and have a flatmate who wouldn't take kindly to me hiring out his room!
