The ryanaircampaign.org website sure looks the same as the ryanair.org.uk website (as was). This sort of illustrates the difference between Nominet and WIPO decisions, though. The WIPO D2006-1194 Decision rules not to transfer ryanaircampaign.org but the Nominet DRS 3655 Decision confiscates ryanair.org.uk. In 7.18 of the Nominet DRS Decision, Nominet Expert states : Let's get real here. Just how many people would believe that the website was Ryanair's official website?"It is reasonably likely that an internet user would click on that link, believing that it would take them to Ryanair's own site." Can anyone who would have thought that the ryanair.org.uk website was Ryanair's official website please step forward. Prominently placed at the top of the website in bold letters is the wording : Ryanair Campaign This is not the official Ryanair Web site. Doesn't this give some sort of clue? Last edited by Crusader-K; 28-12-2006 at 03:55:49 AM. |

Do you think the "campaign" being in the domain name made any difference? What would have happened if it had been RyanairCampaign.org.uk or notRyanair.org.uk ? instead of ryanair.org.uk

![]() | Oh!
I was under the impression that the uk experts were saying that there was no reason why such a site needed to include the name of the company i agree with the americans....its like saying you can't hold a banner outside westminster stating 'labour are sliding' Lee |
