What do you think of the offer from some companies (Webhostingbuzz.com, for example) - free domain name for life. They offer it along with their shared , reselling and semi-dedis solutions. Has anybody used it from the company?

For the low price of a single domain why not reg it yourself at a registrar knowing you have full control over it - many FREE offers have small print which includes fees when transferring away from the hosting company.

For Life means for your life with them, the register and maintain the domain for you but when you leave them you get all the rights on the domain.
I think you may get more info about the rights on the domain in Webhostingbuzz.com TOS.

I'm smelling spam here...........Users Horde, Zendos, Godzila and BaHus regularly appear in the same thread discussing dodgy hosting/domain companies that noones ever heard of.

In case you are getting a domain name in the hosting plan, it's always worth checking host's TOS, I mean it's essential to know what happens to the domain ownership once you decide to leave webhostingbuzz.com services.
