![]() | You mean like the farmer who got a poor service from his bank, and so drove down to the bank and sprayed the branch with manure??

I prefer a more direct link, anything more would be for the mysterious 'Militdom' organisation | |

![]() | Scenario. Domain registered nearly 10 years ago and not used, person owns 1 or 2 domains so not likely to be a domainer but more likely registered back then and forgot about, You fancy the domain but can't track down owner, and registration details likely out of date. You submit a drs, they dont reply, you get it. Is that a possibility? |

![]() | yes mate, that sounds about right. You may need to show a small claim to the name. But that wouldn't be hard at all.

I collect domains, this new rule means that people can take a domain off me because of such reasons as the postman not delivering a letter. I'm not getting out of my pram about it, the drs takes 3 minutes to file. So I'm not going out of my way picket nominet or anything. But this rule means I may be filling out reply forms day in day out This rule means I might get 11 drs's against me reply to 10, and miss the 11th drs and lose the domain. As rules stand why would someone make an offer over £200 for a domain, simply DRS someone for free and try your luck first. The new rule is not thought out at all and if I can highlight it before someone loses a big domain, then all the better. If not, then I can stand on this forum and at least say I told you so, although there is a lot that have also seen what is on it's way.

From what I have heard, no one knows. If I change my name to Graeme Asda, does that mean I have rights? or do I have to have a business with the initials Asda? Because each of those I could achieve in doing in under 10 minutes with a few forms of the net. We should have been told of what threshold rights have to be met for a handover to take place. Is it the same as a normal DRS?, because it doesn't sound like it to me. It sounds like the evidence of a complainant is very low indeed, I'm not trying to be disruptive or cause a crap storm but this should have been thought through as it looks like when it comes to the crunch and the first case comes in, nominet are going to be making it up as they go along. Plus what are they going to do to me if I keep launching a DRS every week? All the best GW

![]() | One thing to press Nominet on is that ALL drs correspondance should be by registered/recorded delivery requiring signatures at both ends. It was stated in a number of the drs consultation responses but I'm not aware they've followed through with this pretty reasonable request. S |

Like most things Nominet do or come up with, there is no rhyme or reason as to how or why they do anything. If they never had a total market share and a captive audience, as a business, they would have been bust years ago.. Their logic is exasperating sometimes and filing numerous phantom DRS claims seems an illogical (although somewhat apt) reply. Why not go a step further and write a DRS bot that files a claim against every single uk domain in the root zone file.
