Question 123-reg liability ?

Just been looking for domains with the word Mac in them to do with my surname.
The one i wanted was taken but 123 suggested Applecomputers2u.co.uk
Now surely if you regged this name and set up a computer sales site and then Apple issued a DRS and in which they would win, Surely 123 would be held responsible for suggesting you reg an obvious 3rd party trademark in the first place.

An army surplus store wouldn't recommend you buy a knife because it's good for stabbing people ?

In other words any illegal use of the domain would be down to their advice.
What do they think you would do with Applecomputers2u.co.uk ?

Doubtful. It is a suggestion service not an advice service. T&Cs probably cover it, and the "buyer" should have common sense etc.

So no, not going to be making 123-reg / any registrar sleep badly IMO

123 suggested other domains that were free including Applecomputers2u.co.uk. 123 did not advise you to register Applecomputers2u.co.uk and then setup a web site passing off as Apple Computers. If you register the domain and setup a website passing off as Apple then Apple may pursue you and if you blame 123 they will laugh all the way to the next complaint.
