Non-selling seller at Sedo

Couple years back I won an action for domain on Sedo. Expected transaction to be smooth as usual, unfortunately seller decided he does not want to complete the transfer. Now that I came to my senses, I want to complete transaction ether way. Seller who is a member of this forum and provide services to some of you still doesn’t want to transfer ( sorry no names at this stage). I understand that we all make silly mistakes but contract is the contract.
Its pity that two domainers can’t complete simple transaction.
I sought legal advice and my solicitor tells me its relatively straight forward to enforce a contact, but at the moment I don’t want to take that route. Has anyone got similar experience?

Thanks
Max

I've just had my refund for this:

Took just over a month of waiting, I too have the option of taking legal action. Not sure whether to.

Relatively easy for the solicitor to get paid for trying to complete the transaction.

Honestly mate, save your money and name and shame. Very few people on here would do that sort of thing and more than likely an oversight if it is someone who has been on here a long time.

Trouble is all they have to say is that "I didn't put it on sedo, don't know what you are talking about", then what would you do? Can't sieze his computer for forensics and things to see if it was him that did it. Then if it is his computer, he then says well the mrs did it?

The advice is harsh but save your money mate.... contact them and say you are about to name and shame unless they complete, at which point they will say why they didn't complete and go from there.

Ask one of the admins or mods before you post it though, always best to get that side sorted first.

Best of luck
GW

I would guess its along the lines of 'we setup a deal but do nothing else'

What, it took you 2 years to come to your senses? Now all of a sudden you want to take legal action to get a domain, get real, or is it that the domain is worth a lot more now, has it been developed, now got better serps, good page rank?

You should have taken up the case years ago, not wait until now on whim of yours!

It's too late if you've left it this long. Maybe you had second thoughts at the time whether it was worth it, but looking back it looks like a bargain.
Markets change. If it was worthless at today's prices you wouldn't want it.

(I once was given a second chance offer on a domian that I bid on through Sedo. So I wasn't the winning bidder, the winning bidder fell through (or maybe it was a shill bid who knows) and I was offered the chance to buy the domain at the price I bid.

I agreed, but later pulled out, and I regret it at least once every month. It was a name that I know I could sell over night for x,xxx possibly xx,xxx and I pulled out of a deal where I'd agree to buy it for £300 I think. One of my biggest domaining mistakes.)

Care to share what the domain name was?

Two years back is too long to make much sense of it.
