Could i have a problem in the future?

I just bought a really nice domain name and plan to build a price comparison/deal site around it.

The domain is something like this: goodwidgets.co.uk.

After i bought it I found there is another UK based site with the domain name goodwidget.com

goodwidget.com appears to be well established with sitelinks, a decent alexa rank etc

So if I make a success of goodwidgets.co.uk will the owners of goodwidget.com have any legal grounds to come after my domain?

Cheers

* Get a site up quickly.
* If the other site sells their own brand, make sure no adverts appear on your site for their goods.

If you don't try to make money in any way from the fact that the .com is a successful site, then you should be ok.

Whatever you do, avoid these mistakes!

If it's a pure brandable domain then you are screwed but if a generic you might be ok ?

ps. DO NOT offer it to the owners of the .com

The other site doesn't sell it's own brand widgets. It is really a widget fan site with industry news etc and it also has a deals/price comparison section.

What do you mean by pure brandable?

Does it make any difference that I hold the plural of the domain name?

Thanks for the replies!
