Transferring 100+ domains away from UK2 - Advice Needed

Hi Guys

First post so go easy
Found this forum accidentally through Google, and have spent the last few hours reading through a lot of posts and now my head hurts. (Information Overload)

Here’s my problem… I want to move 100+ .uk domains and a few .com’s away from uk2 mainly because of there new email diversion costs, Heart Internet looks quite good but reading on hear it may not be as simple as I thought to move from UK2.

Am I right in thinking that I can go to http://amail.co.uk/moveaway.htm and move each domain individually which is going to take hours but incur no charges or go straight to http://www.nominet.org.uk/registrant...transfer/mass/ and setup a mass transfer by emailing an Excel spreadsheet of the domains and then fill out a transfer form, Nominet will then change the tags to HEARTINTERNET all for £22+vat.

Then I go to https://customer.heartinternet.co.uk...e/transfer.cgi and transfer the domains to heart with no other transfer charges? Or have I misunderstood something? Will UK2 charge to release the domains? (all the Domains are over 2yrs old) are there any charges I have missed?

I don’t fully understand the whole process and any advice would be most helpful.

Regards, Mike

Hi Mike,

I think you have got the gist of it.

You don't need to fill in a transfer form at Nominet, unless you are also changing the registrant name. I think you probably meant TAG change though.
http://www.nominet.org.uk/registrant...angeregistrar/

The losing registrar should not charge if Nominet make the TAG change for you, unless you owe them money for renewal fees etc.

For the sake of £15 (plus VAT) I would get Nominet to do it too. Bulk TAG changes usually go through in a couple of days.
