Fasthosts customer? Change your password now

From the register:

"Fasthosts customer? Change your password now"

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/10...investigation/

"As a precautionary measure, Fasthosts has asked its customers to update their passwords. This includes their control panel, email, FTP, and database passwords, all of which can be changed via the customer control panel. Fasthosts has now implemented customer password encryption to further protect customer data."

Not good for those who use them ...!

This reads like a recent security breach.

This, coupled with losing a lot of client emails, doesn't bode well for them

I believe mails were sent out earlier today so yes, in theory, if you became a client today at some point you could be fine

Yep

I got the same email in relation to my ukreg.com account. I have also as a precaution changed my password on my 1&1 account - but I was not contacted about the problem by 1&1.

Best Regards
