Streamline, Oh Dear. Inept!

Streamline have utterly botched their php4 to php5 migration, causing serious problems to their linux users...

Nothing works. It just gives 500 errors & the log files suggest php & permissions are screwed.

This has been going on for 2 WEEKS!

Lost count of the vague promises of 'if it's not fixed in 24hr let us know and we'll escalate it'. It's been escalated 5times and still not resolved,

Support is inept, streamline are inept.

Be warned! Fortunately it's only 1 domain and I don't use it for rankings or money making!

Amen,

Im glad I got away from them when I did. Have heard nothing positive about their service. Dont be fooled by the flash looking website. Service is appauling and customer service is atrocious. Dont know if its still the case now but they didnt even have a phone number to ring when I was with them. Sending a ticket email was like talking to a robot.

Guys what we need is the biggest recession to hit this country in a thousand years.

There are business operating in the UK at the moment who are so incompetent it beggars belief.

Much like a forest fire clears out the dead and the dying species, we need that with a recession.

Make a big one o'lord and may you be kind enough to take Heart Internet with you

I agree. And this ineptitude augurs well for some of this space to be taken up by people who know the industry and have clients' interests at 'heart' (excuse pun). Even the biggest of players can be 'made or slayed' on forums like this.

My main site is with these people and the site is down again. Daily server issues, automated ticket responses etc etc.
How easy is it to move my site and sql database to my other "Reliable" host without loosing data etc?

Yep, still not fixed. Still Inept.

Just passed its 3week anniversary!

Looks like a badly configured apache vhost. Feel like asking for the server root password and fixing it myself. Would only take five minutes....not 3 weeks and counting!

For anyone who is using streamline or has used them in the past a quick WARNING....

I have noticed that they have been charging me domain renewal fees on my cancelled accounts. I dont have or have never had any domains registered with hosting accounts, I just dont do it.

So to wrap it up they have been charging me renewal fees on domains that dont exist on their system and were never registered with them. Its only when I managed to get an email to them that they said they would refund me.

Their system obviously thinks that when you take out a hosting account with them you also have the domain with them. Poor show.
