Servage MySQL problems etc....

Had no problem with these guys before. Only reason im using them for this site is that they allow adult content.

Ive just upgraded the site and it now runs with MySQL.....

The site sometimes works, sometimes takes 15 seconds to load and quite often just wont load for hours.....

Why is this??????

Its starting to work me up now.

Get away from servage... they used to be amazing... they now suck!

Indeed similar with streamline.net.

I would check out site5 (if you buy a reseller box) or eapps as they are really cheap but amazing value, service etc. Plus you can install any server stuff you want / need. New php, or rails, or... whatever

Yep, had no down time atall since I moved.

I can strongly agree that both streamline and servage are a pain up the arse.

Streamline is by far the winner though. They are crap all round including customer service.

Who do you use now Mat

Hi Mat

I am in a similar situation to you. Who do you use now?

I am currently with servage and am having major MySQL problems

See my user support chat dialogue here, read from the bottom upwards to follow the time line:

Servage.net

Kind Regards
Paul

Following on from my pm to you,

Just leave Servage and go with one of the hosts I suggested.

Servage dont want to lose you as a customer so they will carry on giving you Bull about how they have repaired your database or increased speeds etc but that has always been a very temporary measure in my case.

Servage are FANTASTIC for serving porn, simple downloads and ccbill they are top of the ladder, but database, ssl and anything heavy and I heard they crumble.

In line with servages packages check out Web Hosting by DreamHost Web Hosting: Web Sites, Domain Registration, WordPress, Ruby on Rails, all on Debian Linux! (I really should find my affiliate link shouldnt i ?), I just got unlimited space/bandwidth on my account.

A friend of mine Shannon Larratt who used to Run BME: Body Modification Ezine - The Biggest and Best Tattoo, Piercing and Body Modification Site Since 1994 until there was some issues, put his new site on there and it was gobbling up about 1tb a month and they couldnt be arsed, and the site was fine with that heavy load too, so I keep a heavy use account on there
