![]() | Available domain names registered minutes later
Either I was very unlucky or the site that I used to check available domain names registered a name. It was a good .co.uk. Checked it - was available (checked with nominet too) and then within the hour it was taken. It isn't a topical domain name. Is this a practice that is known to happen? Registrars registering names that visitors search for before they register them by themselves? May just be a big coincidence. |

I think the key phrase was "It was a good .co.uk." I'm sure there must be many people who - like me - mine for available .co.uk generics daily. As such, any particular "good" name is susceptible to being discovered and regged. That's why you should always grab anything really good at the moment you find it available - an hour is an extremely long time on the internet!
