Godaddy transfer?

Scrap it, I found an answer.

For anyone who wants to do the same, Godaddy don't allow .uk domains to be transferred to them.

Well that would explain the lack of .co.uk auctions...

They're a nightmare to get out from there too - they use a German registrar for co.uk's and don't have a clue about procedures.

Fine for gTLDs though.

I think they're KEY-SYSTEMS resellers, the problem is that they also have their own TAG and Nominet allow that TAG to be used on the new registrar screen when doing a transfer, which is basically a waste of time and confusing for buyers who aren't clued up. I've told Nominet about it loads of times but they don't seem to want to do anything about it.

Apparently if you type GODADDY as the IPS TAG it throws an error saying something along the lines of "we don't allow GODADDY". Is it possible to get it onto a Godaddy account by tagging to key-systems?

Ah right, Nominet must have listened to my constant moaning then

In theory it should be possible. KEY-SYSTEMS don't auto accept transfers, it can take days and then you've got the issue of getting it into the godaddy account, if godaddy are willing to do it in the first place.

Moniker are the same:

Nothing's easy these days! I've told the buyer to just leave the domain on my TAG but they've gone awol!

I'm not sure if it's possibly a deal breaker which will make it very interesting.

If they want to use a US registrar get them to use ENOM - they accept .uk onto their own TAG - the customer will probably need to email enom support and ask them to add the domain to their account after the tag change.
