As a Tag holder and Nominet member how much does it cost to register a .co.uk domain?

Bear in mind there's £100 a year membership fee and £400 joining fee both + vat, plus the time in keeping up to speed with automaton and Nominet politics so it's not quite as simple as £5 cost and the rest is profit.

Yes its £5.88 including VAT compared to £6.09 at 123-reg.co.uk (see banner at top of page) so only really worth getting your own tag to catch names or if you intend to register 1000's of names.

Well I register all my .co.uk domains with 1and1.co.uk and only pay £4.68 inc vat, so how come they can be cheaper than what a member of Nominet pays?

Try their customer services and youll find out

Personally I'd recommend using 123-reg. they offer a much better service and are worth paying the extra

Yep, I quite agree. I had a 1&1 account about a year ago now and their customer services were absolutely crap! They took 30mins to answer the call and then put me through to the wrong dept in Germany where I was told to call another number; needless to say it took another 40 mins to get through and they still had no answer to my problem. They may have improved since then but my experience has completely put me off using them ever again.

Regards
