You are right and they point this out: "The o's are zeros and the money is green..." Not a very user-friendly way to say it and some people may not realise.

Is there a way to question it with eBay?

You could report it, but I doubt Ebay would do anything. The sale is more money for them. They let auctions such as "Xbox box for sale" run as the auction states that its a box for sale, even though the description shows the actual hardware. The bids on these scams can get quiet high. The guy auctioning the m0ney.co.uk domain does state the o is a 0 so in theory in ebays eyes there is nothing wrong with it. |

eBay are a joke with this sort of thing. They're always appearing on the TV saying that they take anything even remotely "iffy" very seriously and they have, for example, their Vero programme to allow rights owners to report infringments and get it all sorted (ie the item removed) quickly. I do regular Vero reports for a client - eBay generally take anything from three to five days to remove items. Hardly speedy is it? Especially when you can have one day and three day auctions. They've just got bigger fish to fry. Like counting the millions...

Ebay's lack of copyright \ TM awareness is just downright scandelous. The volume of hooky \ pirated DVD's available has stopped me buying DVD's from there, it just isn't worth the risk of ending up with some dodgy Chinese pirate... But wait, if you even sniff at Ebay's TM they come after you all guns blazing. |

I wouldn't be too surprised if someone put an outragous bid in, just to sabotage his auction Last edited by stevie; 27-11-2005 at 08:03:17 PM. | |
