Been pondering whether to bring some .UK's to life on live sites which already on .co.uk just to taste any potential traffic, and I wondered if anyone else had had any success or tried this.

I'm under no illusion that suddenly getting masses of [domain].uk type-ins is just a wild fantasy  but its impossible to know for sure..

I think this should be the opposite way round.....
I have a .uk site and want to know if there is any traffic on the co.uk domain.

No-one (joe public) knows .uk exists and I doubt if you would even get 10 straight type-ins in a month if you owned the likes of paydayloans.uk

If you did, I bet 10 of those simply forgot to type the "co" before the ".uk" So in effect, they would be typos

Ya but 'a' .co.uk could be getting a hundreds of .UK typos a month - must worth having that traffic? But no way to taste it without bring the .UK to life.

Probably won't be much traffic at the moment.

Forward thinking domainers might group together and produce an advertising campaign on how you could just type in "keyphrase" plus ".uk" into the browser address bar to find stuff and cut out Google. The .uk is now way better for this proposal than the .co.uk.

I think you misunderstood the post. bigcashlondon dot co.uk is not registered either.
