Having done this for a while and probably sold nearly half as many domains through this forum as the top bods like DB, how do you feel domainers are when buying, a bit to closety? holding things a bit too close to their chest? Those that deal with me, know I don't muck about. If you want something then you tell me and you get it - sometimes, it's called negotiation. I get a feeling that some just wait on thecorner hoping the domainer selling will break down and cry, and invariably I do haha but i'm glad the people I have dealt with realise I'm open to deals. I do find though, that people make up the most funniest excuses for not buying at the time, just tell it how it is, "I'm loaded but I'm not buying at that price", easy aint it, or I'll have it but I want those as well, you see people that deal with me, get deals, people that don't, just sit there and watch all the domains go and pass them by. But I'd be interested in hearing what you think of other domainers and their actions, sneaky, waiting on the side, no names, just attitudes and behaviours, it's interesting, I've bought a few domains off here as well so what goes around comes around. By the nature of the biz, people have to pay their cards close to their chest. None of us know everyone's contacts, so any one of us may be buying a domain name on behalf of a large corporate client, for instance. If you sell a domain to me, it may cost me £xxx. If you know that A Big Company are buying it, the value potentially goes up massively into £x,xxx - £xx,xxx type numbers. By having a middle man means that the end client gets a good price and the middle man takes a curt as well. My opinion, anyways. |
