Anything left ???

Does anyone believe there are domains worth £1,000 + not yet registered, or do you think with the introduction of specialist software and online tools the chances of these are remote? (excluding domains that drop)

Be interested in hearing peoples thoughts?

I'm sure they are out there, you just have to think of them. New technologies are coming along all the time, so if you can see the opportunity first, you can have a valuable domain.

loads left, and loads that will continue to appear based on new tech, trends, fashions etc. It's a big old pot! You just gotta be quick.

eg. I just registered economiccrash,co,uk the other day. With the banking system on the verge of melt down, who knows what will happen, and that domain could be valuable. 3dprintingservices is anothe rone for the future that I got the other day.

I just reg'd PCchairs.co.uk and HomeOfficeDesks.co.uk the other day.

I was also looking up retirement domains and planretirement.co.uk which seems an ok domain is available to reg - must be loads of good one's out there really.

I agree. Who would have thought to buy domains with 'wii' in it until recently?

I think the days of using dictionaries have gone. It's now about 'adjective/noun' combos and keeping up to date with current events and new products, services, technologies and trends.

So watching the news and stimulating your imagination is the best way forward now to get killer domains at reg cost (oh, and being quick of course!).

Here is a useful tip for you. There are some tools which sort through RSS feeds and news and filter the new terms. I believe are some people using these software and registering.com names.

Indeed. I regularly note down new technologies or phrases I have heard for the first time and look them up. I normally find that they are registered already but last week I picked up biofuelpellets.co.uk (and the singular) after reading about the new(ish) technology. It may or may not be worth the punt but if a change in government policy made these popular my reg fees were not wasted. The technology itself doesn't seem to be viable but some alternate energy sources have become fashionable even though they are not really practical.

I've rambled a bit... my point is that there are new words dropping in to our language all the time, be it fashion or technology. Just think of some of the words you use without thought that were not in our everyday language ten years ago, broadband for example.

Good point.

Listening to the radio at the weekend, they mentioned about the introduction of 'QR Code' compatible mobile phones into the UK on Monday just gone. Of the possibilities for different perms, qr-codes.co.uk was still available. I slept on the matter, then found someone had registered it by Tuesday.

Like you said, there are new phrases coming out all the time!
