how much would the names of UK villages of 1000-2000 population be worth in .com? .............if anything

Hard to put a price on them.

Ive noticed quite a few round here have been bought by local bed and breakfasts etc.

In 1999 ANY-Web Ltd. registered over 15,000 domain names of villages and communities as .CO.UK

They are now selling them directly to parish councils for £250 or to individuals and companies typically from £1000

Interesting... I was just thinking to myself which is worth more for a town/city domain in the UK? a .co.uk or a .com

I have:

warrington.co.uk or warrington.com

Any thoughts which has most value?

I would say .co.uk is better in the sense that its a UK village/town and there may be American places with the same name that could lead to confusion with the .com

But quite alot of people in the UK typing it into their browser (type in traffic) would probably put .com

Id rather have the .co.uk but having both is certainly a good thing!

id take a .co.uk or .org.uk over a .com for uk town name any day of the week

I hate .coms a for uk business and town names actually, they are manky.
