Best Way to Lease a Domain

Hi Guys,

Any ideas how I can maximise my chances of leasing out some of my domains?

Thanks
Sig.

Rank them in Google and get some traffic going through them.

customer contact?

Yes, but whats the most effective way of getting potential customers to consider your domain? It may have other traffic going to it, but unless somebody was interested in using the domain, they may send you an email, but how many people investigate further when the domain thay want is gone?

i normally see the 'taken' or 'unavailable' response and move on to the next possibility...

I can't believe there is a sedo equivalent that deals in leases...

How many people have actually leased a domain out? what the aximum monthly/annual rate?

Thanks
Sig.

There is no max or min monthly rate, depends on the value of the domain and any traffic.
If you owned officefurniture.co.uk and it ranked top 5 for 'office furniture' you would get enquiries, especially if you stated on the homepage it was available for lease.

For poor domains you would have to do the legwork and email people/businesses.

Just 2 so far, one for £500pm one for £75pm - but I have quite a few brewing as it were so I am looking to get a few leased late this year/early next year.

Almost leased one recently and agreed £250 per month for it but it lost it's ranking that day!.... just a bit too early for most of mine as they are under a year old.

Wait for them to come to you!

I now have a handful of domains that I have leased a couple for more than 2 years now...I initially started out sending emails to people that I thought may be interested, but the that never worked. All the leased domains have been from people contacting me. I tend to get a domain leased after an average of 4 queries. In terms of price, it varies a lot by domain, but as a minimum you would want at least the reg fee per week!
