Probably not the right section but din't know where to put it ?
When you search for an image on Google or other search engines and for example you put boats it then comes up with pages 1 onwards, how does an image become number 1 in this list ? how does Google select these images ?

I once had a bodybuilding image on one of my sites through the whypark system. Not sure how it got on the images page for google but it increased the click throughs on the website by a few thousand per month.
If it's easier to get images to the top rather than pages then this may be the way to go to get more traffic.

they were

body_building.jpeg
bodybuilding.gif

at the time i checked where the traffic was coming from on the google analytics tool and they all came from google images seciton. Certianly got plenty of views from it and a little extra revenue , which was nice.

So did you use an ALT tag on the images at all to describe them?

I've some images that loads of people were using on facebook etc... cripled my bandwidth. I ended up stopping linking on them for that particular site.

i had a closer look into it.....there was no alt tag on the images.

It looks like someone had put a link to the picture on bodybuilding.com forum page after finding the image. As my page was relevant to body building supplements, it got plenty of clicks on adsense.
