| Junior Member | Learn about domains Can anyone point me to a site where i can learn about domain names? I don't know how to tell the difference between things like singular/plural etc.. For example what would be the difference between tv and tvs in regards to what people search for ? Also if I have a 3 word domain such as flatscreentvs.co.uk is that what people have to actually search for? would i appear if they use spaces? i.e. flat screen tvs or do thaey have to type exactly with no spaces? and what about words around the other way ie. lcdtvs and tvslcd sorry for all the questions but i am new to this and need to start at the beginning as to what to register. if someone could point me to a site which explains that would be good. i couldnt find any that good. thank you |

![]() | Experience is always the best way to learn. Don't worry, we all remortgage are homes to buy shit names to begin with As pointed out, forums are a good starting point... as well as this one which there's a few others which mainly focus on gTLDs (Global domains). Not sure I can mention the names here... so feel free to PM me. Dnjournal.com is a great news site. domainnamewire.com is also pretty good. If you're a total newbie you could also try namenewbie.com (content seems to be a little dated on this site, but most of what is on there is still solid advice). Site is owned by Ron, the same guy who runs dnjournal.com. Hope this helps and good luck! - Rob |

| Member | ha am sorry for that last post re-read and i sounded a right arse! i am in the same boat my friend and thus far this is what i could recommend Look at the prices of domains in the "UK ONLY Domain Names For Sale" good to see what is normal price and get any of those "i am going to be a millionaire" figures out your head (which took me a while ha) Read this thread: Making a Domain earn £1 a week by far the best one on the forum in my view have a gander through this New Domainers also DON'T REG ANYTHING YET! UNTIL YOU ARE SURE. Everyone makes this mistake, i did, everyone did, and you probably will, but if i can save one person from it, then ill be happy :P and yeah, just read up and give it a go really, just dont spend too much money to begin with, it usually all goes down the drain |
