Does anyone use DRT? I've bought the software, got a list of working proxies but can't get it to do anything - am I missing something? I've tried emailling their support but it bounces.

I Used to use it all the time but Currently am waiting till they do this upgrade they have been on about as the yahoo links have not been showing up for some time now so recently have not used it at all.

It should work well enough to give you aload of other variables tho.

have you managed to get a list of domains to appear down the right hand side and if so then pressed the green triangle start scan button ?
also look in options under scan domains and see what things you have ticked to scan for.

I would be very interested in your list of working proxies if you would care to share any information on them
My hunts proved to yield a few slow unreliable ones.

Sorry to say, but in my experience the support provided by Luc is abysmal and there are many parts of the software that simply don't work. That's a piece of software just gagging to be re-written and properly supported. Maybe my next project?

I signed up to a paid proxy list this afternoon from my-proxy.com, so I've loaded about 50 anonymous and working proxies into DRT. I can upload the domains and start a test, but it chokes on anything like links or even google PR. I've tried restricting it to a very small number of variables and it still doesn't seem to get anywhere. It does seem to be able to pickup some information like nameservers, WHOIS but it does this at such a slow speed I'm wondering how people can use this as a bulk checker.

Proxies: Here today, sussed tomorrow. At best you can get paid ones but they are all blackballed within days with this DRT software.

As crazy as it sounds, it's cheaper to just go and use dial up, you get a new ip everytime with most providers and more relaible than proxies.

That's the best way I have used, not brilliant but works for what I need.

I had some good proxies and it didn't work for me more than 30% of the time.

I Agree With Grey Wing,

What sort of Ip address do you have fixed or static ?

Try turning you router off for 30 seconds then on again.
If your ip address changes disable proxies
and use a new ip address Every time you get banned.
( I cant do this any more, Got Virgin Now, They only give you a new ip address every 2 weeks )

Nominet bans at 1000
Google pr and yahoo links ( when operational ) are around 300

As long as your list is under 1000, do it all the way through then get a new ip ( or 2 )
to check for links and pr

New ip around every 295 domains checked

I've verified the proxy list again today and half are now dead Nonetheless thats still 30 that are shown as 'alive' and anonymous, which I understood was what I needed. I've tried turning off the modem but as I'm with virgin too I guess thats not going to work. Also had a look at the back of the PC to see if i even have a dialup modem slot, and sadly I don't - will have to look in the PC graveyard and see if I have one that I could use. I have also tried to run the link test on just one domain so I'm a bit stumped as to why it won't work at all. Have tried looking at the proxy setup video on the DRT website but it seems to end halfway, just in case I've missed something during the setup. Has anyone got a functioning support email address for DRT?
