LittlewoodsDirect.com changing its name to Very.co.uk

LittlewoodsDirect are rebranding as Very.co.uk. Littlewoods is aiming to appeal to a younger online customer base and will launch a new website Very.co.uk aimed at female shoppers aged between 25 and 45 with young families. The website is due to go online in a few days time.

Nice to see big companies like Shop Direct starting to recognise the value of using short, memorable domains when creating brands.

Why don't they use www.co.uk

On a more serious note, At least they are branding a domain name into their business. Will be interesting to see how much they will spend on promotion and their methods, Since there isn't even a holding page nor is it included in google

All I know is the white label website system they use on littlewoods/woolworths is pretty shocking SEO wise so don't really see them dominating that many verticals until they fix their problems

It's going live on the 5th (see littlewooddirect.com, at the bottom of the homepage). Wolff Olins is supposedly working on the rebranding. A marketing campaign is launching in September.

Does anyone have the full history of the "very.co.uk" domain name? I am aware that it was owned by "DOMAINSDELUXE.COM" in late 2004 but I have no idea how many times it changed hands since then.

You'll maybe have to query sources that are breaking Nominet's current rules.
