Hi all,

Looking at a domain:-

Code:

Domain name:
        xxxx.co.uk

Registrant:
        xxx (non limited company)

Trading as:
        xxx Ltd

Does anyone know who the actual legal owner is - is it the registrant or is it the trading as?

Have you tried asking Nominet who they consider to be the legal registrant?

Yes - just got off the phone and they said it was the registrant (who I can't find any information on)

"Trading as" names are not legal entities so i would assume it would be the registrant.

Registrant in Nominet's eyes I would think.

I think some of mine came up as this at some point. This was because 123-reg or someone had issues during registration, so despite me choosing LTD company, they went as individual and trading as LTD. I have since moved them to my tag, but Nominet won't correct the issue and want to charge me to change the registrant from *me* to my limited company.

eg. WHOIS perfectpoker.co.uk

I complained to fasthosts at the time, as they were registering them wrong (in fact I think I posted on here as well), but this was how they fixed them. (here: http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/domain...html#post89020 )
