Domains with an 'I' prefix

Whats everyones thoughts on keywords with high exact search volumes that people register with a prefixed 'I'

Obv this is an iphone syndrome, but are they any use?

worth a reg?
potential resell value?

i'm looking on regging a few for affiliate, ad minisites

What would your thoughts be on 2 word domains for affiliate sites?

2 words, 3 words, I'd even reg 4 words if I thought it was right. The key thing with domains for aff sites is that your domain relates to a phrase that is late in the browser's "buying cycle", i.e. the kind of search they are doing is late stage where they are just about to buy. That's why reviews sites probably don't convert that well (I'll find out soon lol), because they're working out what to buy rather than where to buy, but other words in domains which "qualify" a search, e.g. the buyer is doing a product comparison, or its an exact match on a specific product name, have the potential to convert much better. My view would be that there are more powerful prefixes than the i-, but i- domains can have good resale value 'cos they're nice and short. A three word exact match domain could work pretty well, take best breakdown cover for instance, that's quite a good domain.

Rgds

OK, so if we use Icruise or Icruisedeals

(both 60K month exact local searches)

as an example what would your thoughts be on this type of domain

iplayer syndrome too . It's all going "i" shaped these days. I don't think such a strategy is a bad idea as such. There's a market for these type of domains, where the premium version may be prohibitively expensive.

what would your thoughts on the leakage in value with the 'I'

If for example 'cruisedeals/co/uk' was worth £1K what would 'Icruisedeals/co/uk'

would we be looking at 10%

Just to add, I think the 'i' prefix works pretty well with one word domains, but with two, as above, i don't really think it works at all well.
