i saw a series of names like anewspaper.co.uk, a butchersshop.co.uk etc all listed for sale at 10k each on a site and then went and registered lots like abakery.co.uk thought i had struck gold, actually embarassed now as this was 1999 and i think i could have done a bit better lol

My first was registered when I was in Sixth Form and didn't know any better about trademarks - I hand regged le coq sportif UK domain. Subsequently sold that for a nice profit.

Although, I have never dabbled in names that could infringe IP rights since.

My first .com domains were Feb-April 1999 (I regged about 100 names at the old NetSol prices of $70 each), and some of them I've still got: RecruitmentService.com etc, although most are now sold.

First 2 UK regs were Jan 2000 - pheromone(s).co.uk, both of which I've still got.

First domain sale was in Summer 1999 - from my first bunch of.coms, but it was sold under a NDA.

Mine was motorsports.co.uk which I registered in 1997 and developed into a pretty popular site (30-50k uniques a month back in 1999). It was taken over by 365 Corporation and became rally365.com and I sold motorsports.co.uk a few years later to Mofo on here.

Pretty boring really, mine was my name (first+surname) in Feb 2001. Still use it for email today.

The Dave variant was the first on 6/2/01 and the david one ten days later on 16/2/01 which means it is 9 years old today!

I grabbed my surname in May 2000, fortunately it's not Smith, Jones, Brown, etc.
Having said that, I'd registered various names for some years prior to this for the companies I'd worked for.
