Thumbs up Gold Domain Names

Good luck with that! A high-profile sale of such a top-class name would be a great shot in the arm for the UK domain industry. Are you planning to get some of the scrap gold companies in on the action somehow?

Yes good luck... would be nice to see a good sale price for a .co.uk ….(Get some of the buyers away from .com’s or .de's for a change…. ?) Could I ask what made you choose this particular auction/firm over other ones…?

Thumbs up Gold.co.uk for sale

Thank you guys.

@Edwin - Their were already a few companies that had expressed an interest already prior to the auction - I've passed these companies over to Rick & Toby's team for them to follow up, plus we're hitting companies in Hatton Garden, a handful of companies in Birmingham, and a couple of biggies in the states. It's all fun and games.

I'll be flying out to Dublin to attend and see a few old faces. If anyone else is going let me know as its always good to meet fellow acorners.

@ Namealot - I feel the guys from the states usually pull in bigger sales due to attracting the right people. I guess the proof will be in the pudding...

It's probably a significant enough name to warrant a press release on its own. Some of the UK media might well pick it up. The expense is negligible (or none apart from writing if you use a free service to distribute it) and you never know who might see it. Need to get it out in the next day or so though...

nice name, good luck - I don't think you'll get a single bid on it though.

It seems that you are all caught up with a market which the bottom fallen out some time ago. Gold.co.uk is probably worth around £20,000 at best, same as any other generic domains. The new domain system is coming in to place in around a year making co.uk's a think of the past.

Is that why you tried to buy another of Barrys domains not long ago?

If you could pick up the best generic domains for 20k, then I'd be on a spending spree. I've tried buying some of the best, and 20k doesn't scratch the surface... try offering 20k for some of the best geos, or try offering 20k for CarInsurance couk and see what Dr Harnak says. I don't know who bought flowers.co.uk, but it wasn't for 20k!
