Not really, as every domain will be affected pretty much the same

eg

domain abc.co.uk got 100k exacts before the change, but now gets 10k

domain def.co.uk got 50k exacts before the change, but now gets 5k

Both domains have been affected the same way, and "now" only get 10% of their original figure.

The GKT hasn't been around for long, and domain owners / purchasers have got along just fine without it for over 10-15 years prior to its creation.

The big fact of the matter is, it is only domainers who care about GKT results, when selling to domains to people who also use the GKT, as a measure of a "good domain"

I would estimate that 95%+ of end users, wouldn't even know what the GKT is or represents, and would just see it as a way to try and enforce a sale, by using the GKT as a convincer.

Surely most serious domainers should be targetting end users, so how many of them do you think this will cause an issue for ?

For me I hope the figures it is showing now are correct - for a number of reasons

1. It doesn't give you false hope when seeing something with 300k exact match, getting it to number 1 and then getting 5 visits a day

2. It will stop people from developing throwaway websites (based on the results previously shown on the the GKT) and cluttering up the G index with crap

3. Its is better to have accurate REAL data, than inaccurate INFLATED data

We all have known deep down, that the GKT has been inaccurate since day 1, we have just chosen to pretend it is real for various reasons.

Reality is a hard dish to swallow for most people, but I would rather live with reality than be disappointed with unachievable expectations AFTER all the hard work and effort has been put in

Yeah, I'm all for real results aswell, I have quite a few decent ones which don't need exacts anyway such as xxsmallinvestmentsxx.co.uk, ignore the xx either side.

UK exacts or not we still need to get selling them

The people who are worried about gkt are mostly just buying rubbish anyway.

Like Frank said theres been plenty of good domain reg'd long before that tool existed and they were spunk in their dads sack.

All the young snappers regging what they think will make them money for doing feck all research and not knowing a thing about the market based on that tool might find they wasted a lot of money on shite soon.

Good domains pretty much nearly always sell.

I've pretty much found most of my domains 'exacts' bollox has stayed the same since any changes - wonder why that is?

I've lost interest in exacts, I'm only going to use it for CPC info which also tends to change once you start a campaign
