![]() | different servers I read on link popularity that google will pick up if i use the same server....this may blow my idea of having a 1000 sites....is it possible to keep my registration with easynic and then buy server space from a good number of other hosting companies? I know from the account at easynic that i can name servers Lee |

![]() | Aye, google can penalise you if you are on the same server. If you were on separate IP's then that goes some way in helping, but if you are on the same ip range, then it can get tricky. I'd recommend putting all your .uk sites on a uk server, and .com's on a US server... Jee |

![]() | that sounds good that sounds good....but would you then advise not linking my sites together ie. www.buytoletmortgages.co.uk to www.lettingagent.com to www.lml.co.uk etc.... lee |

![]() | It really depends on who you listen to in the SEO world, the key words are yes they CAN or MIGHT penalise you, but equally alot of sites are hosted on shared servers and do very well. If your sites are relevant to each other there is no harm in linking them together, if you had alot of random sites all linking to each other you would'nt neccessarily get penalised but those links would'nt carry much (if any) weight with Google. |

![]() | Google is also regged with ICANN, but they don't offer a domain service. Speculatively, I would say the reason for this is so tehy can conduct almost 'unlimited' whois - and google have said in the past that they check domain expiry dates, so why not check the registrant too... |

![]() | test what? To be honest, google takes hundreds of criteria to sort out search engine rankings, and if someone knew all of them, they'd be changed/added to pretty soon by google. Your best bet is to get some good linkage from various sites. If you want to set these up yourself, that's fine, but I wouldn't set up 1000 - maybe 10 good quality ones. Get a morgage blog going with news and updates that people can comment on. Google *loves* regular updated content, and with a blog like wordpress, you can let the world know about updates with new pings, etc etc Jee |

![]() | blog so a blog is better than a forum link to the site? I have a forum ....www.housechat.co.uk but the problem with this is......... people search for advice and if you try and stop companies that compete with you and you do not personally reply to questions it dies a death... Maybe i should get each of my staff to do an hour a day answering questions and then promote the site with sponsored links lee |
