.com vs .co.uk price

Hi All,

Just wondering what the difference in price usually is between the .co.uk of a domain and .com for a premium name.

Just as an example "Cars" .co.uk and com, or "Hotels" .co.uk and com.

I know it wont always be the same, but for popular generic words which are popular in both the UK and the US.

Cheers
Mark

Classified Rating: 0% (-1)

I have heard that the .com is generally worth 10x to 15x the .co.uk domain. But then in some cases the .uk will be worth more

Generally for the top domains WigWams multiplier is about right. But there are lots of pitfuls to avoid, particularly for things like service industries, suppliers anything that is instiinctively local or uk focused/terminology/spelling.

Ron at Dnjournal.com offers a 'free'comprehensive weekly archive of all the top sales pretty much world-wide (it certainly has a good European ctld section) The trouble is it's search facility is pretty useless in that it's not sales specific. But, if you take a brief look at the sales every wednesday evening/thursday morning (publication day) you start to build up a good working knowledge of the Global picture.(including Europe, Asia, Far-East and of course the Americas)
