How to know whats a good domian?

DOnt know if this is in the right section, please move it if you feel like it is, but we have all done it and i am new to this as well but wasting money on what we think is good but is really rubbish in the end!
What I want to know is how do you know what is a good domain, im looking at buying a .co.uk domian name at the mo it doesnt have many exacts at all, to be honest it is really low but its a one word .co.uk domain and could see how it could fit in with some end users, but im not sure and dont want to keep wasting money on something that isnt worth it,
So the question is how do I work out if its worth it or not? obviously im not going to say what it is otherwise if it is good someone will prob reg it lol
Thanks

Ryan

If you are not prepared to invest and maybe lose £10 on your hunch there is no hope for you.
Sorry.

Its all relative, Think how much earth an open diamond mine moves each day..
compared to how many diamonds they mine...
or
How many doors do you have to knock on to sell some crap tv or cable package?..
or
how much s**t do you have to throw on the wall before some of it sticks..

you may well spend 2 years registering crap names and trademarks but for sure you will learn lots on the way - unless you give up now.

So, that said.. Do you want to tell us the name and learn the easy way, or keep it secret and learn the hard way

Sorry I didn't know you had already made mistakes. I would list your portfolio let someone give an honest opinion on there merit. Cheapest way to gauge what you are doing i would think.

This is the million dollar question one that I too would love the answer to. I suspect as others have said as domain name investors (£6) we have to go with our hunch.

I have started from scratch and simply try to absorb as much information as possible, I have regd some terrible names but I simply see it as a learning experience, at present my wall is covered in s**t .

As time goes by I am thinking much more about the domain; it's uses and potential value which is better than my original plan which was if it's available; reg it!

Good Luck

Regards

Aiden

There is merit in your idea, It's generic,

the .com was registered in 2000 and the .org is actually being used.

So the question is, good investment or just a waste again?
or the real question whats it worth?
Thanks
