Nothing misleading in that statement. I was answering his direct question with my thoughts - just like he asked.

Yes, I see what your saying, he asked for your opinion and you gave it, that's fair enough, though probably not very helpful.

However, I think info's are a new traders dream ticket. You can buy good info's cheap in the secondary market and then find end users, unlike co uk's dot com's and net's where value's are already priced in.

Folks, Thanks for the replies.

I am not at all offended by the responses. I am here to learn, and apreciate the time people take to respond. The variance in answers reflects no doubt the relative success (or otherwise) of their experiences.

The last response offers some light at the end of the tunnel - and having spent some time over the last day or so working out where to use my start-up budget I have decided to take a small punt on a few domains in the .info range.

This will only be a small % of my budget, but with 123Reg offer on .info at £1.99 I can get a few at low cost. This to me seems an acceptable risk.

Thanks again for the responses

John

Don't let the £1.99 offer be your motivation. Info works best in domains where people are looking for information - then capitalise

Bailey, Appreciate that comment.

The names are all in an segment I intend to work on, and the 'deal price' means I get more names for a year much cheaper than the normal price.

It also means that I can maybe develop some and sell-on others.

For a few £xx I can cover a few ideas and see where it leads.

As I said no great risk on the cost base. I see these as part of the learning process.

Regards

John

Apologies if this is a dumb Newbie question, but in my scribbles on the train today I was coming up with some possibilities where it seemed it might just be marketable.

Thank in advance
